Privacy Policy for AmyNote

Last updated: July 13, 2026

At AmyNote, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our AI-powered meeting assistant application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Audio Data:

AmyNote requires microphone access to record meetings and provide speech transcription. Audio is saved in your local app library. For real-time transcription, audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to a speech service. High-accuracy transcription, recovery, and some post-recording AI workflows may also upload audio files to our cloud infrastructure and processing providers. These cloud processing copies may be retained to complete, recover, and deliver the requested feature.

1.2 Transcribed Text:

Transcripts, summaries, and notes are saved locally on your device. When transcription, AI analysis, Ask AI, translation, semantic search, recovery, or similar connected features run, the required text and context are sent through our cloud infrastructure to selected processing providers. Processing copies and results may be retained for service delivery, reliability, and recovery.

1.3 Language Settings:

We store your preferred language setting for transcription and translation purposes locally on your device.

1.4 Usage Data:

We collect service and usage information such as app version, device and operating-system information, diagnostics, feature events, network information, approximate region, attribution data, and identifiers used for authentication, subscriptions, fraud prevention, and service reliability. Where possible, we minimize or aggregate this information.

1.5 Account and Purchase Data:

If you sign in, we process account identifiers and the information supplied by your chosen sign-in provider. Apple processes App Store purchases; our subscription provider receives the identifiers and purchase status needed to manage entitlements. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 To Provide Services:

We process audio, text, and related context to provide transcription, translation, summaries, chat, speaker tools, search, recovery, and other features you request.

2.2 To Improve Our Services:

Service and usage data helps us maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, measure performance, understand feature use, and improve the product.

2.3 For Customer Support:

If you contact us for support, we may use your information to assist you with your inquiry.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local-First Storage:

Your saved recordings, transcripts, meeting summaries, and AI results remain available locally on your device. “Local-first” does not mean “local-only”: connected transcription and AI features send the data required for processing to our cloud infrastructure and providers.

3.2 Encryption in Transit:

Data sent between AmyNote, our backend, and processing providers is protected in transit using industry-standard TLS. This is transport encryption; because our services must process content to provide connected features, we do not describe that processing as end-to-end encrypted.

3.3 Cloud Services and Security:

We use established infrastructure, speech, and AI providers and apply access controls and operational safeguards appropriate to the service. Providers and routing may vary by feature, region, reliability, and model selection.

3.4 Cloud Processing and Retention:

Live audio streams are processed by speech services. Uploaded audio, transcript text, processing-job metadata, and generated results may be stored on our cloud infrastructure to complete requests and support retries, recovery, security, and service reliability. Retention can vary by data type and operational need. You may contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of cloud-associated personal data, subject to legal, security, and technical requirements.

4. Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights regarding your personal data, including rights to:

  • Request access to or a copy of personal data associated with you
  • Request correction or deletion of eligible personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive portable data where required by law
  • Appeal or complain to an appropriate privacy authority

To exercise a right, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Control:

You can access, export, and delete locally stored transcriptions and meeting data within the app. Deleting local data does not necessarily delete copies already submitted for cloud processing; contact us to request deletion of cloud-associated personal data.

5.2 Data Portability:

You can export your meeting transcripts and summaries in various formats including PDF, Word, and plain text.

5.3 Opt-Out:

You can stop using the app at any time to prevent new app activity. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from that device but does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription or necessarily delete cloud-associated data.

6. Third-Party Services

AmyNote uses the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare - For networking, application infrastructure, processing jobs, and cloud storage
  • Microsoft Azure and speech providers - For speech-to-text, translation, and related processing
  • OpenAI, Anthropic, and model-routing providers - For transcription and AI analysis features
  • Firebase (Google) - For authentication, analytics, messaging, and service diagnostics
  • RevenueCat and Apple - For subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement management
  • Attribution and analytics providers - For campaign measurement, product analytics, fraud prevention, and performance

These services process data under their own terms and privacy practices. The provider used for a specific request may vary by feature, region, selected model, availability, and reliability.

7. Children's Privacy

AmyNote is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
